1. Overview

SyncTonight provides free online developer tools (JSON formatting, encoding, security utilities, generators, and converters) and a blog of related guides. Most tools run entirely in your browser and do not require an account. This policy covers the limited data we do collect through the Site - primarily via cookies, analytics, and advertising, and any information you voluntarily submit (such as through our contact form).

2. Data we collect

We may collect the following categories of information:

• Contact information - name and email address, only if you submit our contact form.
• Usage data - pages visited, approximate location (city/country level), browser type, device type, and referring URL, collected automatically via analytics.
• Cookie data - identifiers stored by us and third parties (including advertising partners) for analytics and ad personalization. See Section 4 below.

3. Data you paste into tools

Our tools (JSON Formatter, Base64 Encoder, JWT Decoder, Password Generator, and others) process the content you enter entirely within your own browser using client-side JavaScript. That content is never transmitted to, or stored on, our servers. This is a core design principle of SyncTonight, not just a policy - we have no technical means of accessing what you paste into a tool.

4. Cookies & advertising

The Site uses cookies and similar technologies (such as web beacons and local storage) for the following purposes:

• Essential cookies - required for basic site functionality.
• Analytics cookies - help us understand how visitors use the Site, so we can improve it.
• Advertising cookies - we display ads on the Site through Google AdSense and potentially other advertising networks. These networks may use cookies, device identifiers, and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites ("interest-based advertising").

Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) to serve ads on the Site. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.

6. How we use data

We use the data described above to operate and improve the Site, understand which tools and content are useful, detect and prevent abuse, respond to messages sent through our contact form, and serve relevant advertising that helps keep the Site free. We do not sell your personal information.

Contact form submissions are retained only as long as needed to respond to your message and for a reasonable period afterward for record-keeping. Analytics and advertising cookies persist according to the retention periods set by the respective third-party providers (typically outlined in their own privacy policies).

8. Your rights & choices

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 11. You can also manage cookie preferences through your browser settings and the ad-choice tools linked in Section 4.

9. Children's privacy

The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to remove it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes take effect when posted on this page, and we will update the "Last updated" date above. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
